Who's Got the Wheel?

Well guys, summer is almost here and I need a break! Am I just going to leave Reconnected Roots in limbo? Absolutely not! My good friend/historian/family researcher/humanitarian Tom McKnight will be in the big seat all next week! Lord only knows what he will be posting, so you will have to check back to see what he is up to. But I can guarantee you it will be hot! I don’t want to let all of his story out of the bag, but I will tell you that right now, that he’s in a fight to have his Great-Grandmother’s name venerated. Okay, I promise I won’t steal his thunder! But do me a favor. Everyone who reads this post, send Tom a big welcome via the comments section, so he knows this audience doesn’t bite!

Until Then,
Happy Researching!

Thanks Janine & Leslie Ann!

All I get is one week, before it's back to the grindstone! It will be nice to have a little testosterone around here...I think! *smile*

Hiya Tom!

Amy asked that I drop by to "encourage" you to try your hand at blogging. So here goes...

You'll be in the "hot seat" it appears while Amy is away, which will give you a taste for the dynamic. Blogging is like a digital journal -- to be as personal or not, as the owner chooses.

At the end of the day, I could give you all the pep talks in the world but in truth this is a VERY personal dialogue between you and the Ancestors who've called you to do this work.

You should most be interested in what they have to say (so to speak). You should care most about honoring their memory. You should look at what you hope to accomplish with your work.

If you want to access as much information as available in respect to genealogy research, then being online MUST factor into that equation. If you need support and guidance along the way, connecting with the GeneaBloggers is the way to go.

Put Tom aside and consider your Ancestors. Let that drive your journey.

Good luck,

Welcome Tom. Looking forward to reading about your ancestors while Amy's away. I hope you enjoy the experience.

Dear All,
Thank you so much for the warm welcome and encouragement. I'm not much of a blogger at the moment - still riding covered wagons as opposed to suiting up and blasting off for unknown worlds - but don't take this too literally. It will be a priviledge and honor to share with you a story while I'm temporarily at the wheel during Amy's absence of pain, love, commitment, bridging ancestral and generation gaps; and giving way to Divine Intervention and spiritual irony. These are all the ingredients that drive each of our 'missions' and no matter what dead ends we encounter, they're only temporary pit stops to assimilate, strategize, research and grow just alittle more before resuming the pace again. In the final analysis 'Victory' always awaits just over the horizon but the prize however, goes to those who stay steady, faithful and prayerful to the end. Amy is presently locking and loading next week's material before she goes on break. I hope that what is shared is inspirational to all. From my perspective the Angels (the Ancestors) in my family tree have given each other high fives with their wings while sitting on cloud 9 watching what's going on down here thus far. The aim is to move them up to cloud 10. See you next week.

In closing, I had trouble finding this page in the tabs above and went to an earlier email Amy sent me. I told you I was riding a covered wagon - a challenge that will be overcome - in time - I promise.

Peace, Love and Strength,

Will miss Amy's informative and inspiring writings, not for long I hope. But I have read several of Mr Mcknights comments and I know that he will do well. I believe his angels will enjoy the covered wagon ride.
